She is an environmentalist who is very passionate about writing. She has a vision of seeing the day that the world would be a better, sustainable place for habitation. She holds a Bachelors degree in Environmental Science from Kenyatta University.
She works for (CEJAD) Centre for Environment Justice and Development as a research assistant and is majorly involved with Lead and Mercury Projects.
Centre for Environment Justice and Development is a registered national not for profit Non-Governmental Organization that works towards promoting rural development and environmental justice in Kenya through sound chemicals management and sustainable use of natural resources by; Advocating and lobbying for pro-sustainability policy and legal framework, Educating and advising the public on available technologies and practices that improve human and environmental health in specific, and well-being in general and Conducting and/or participating in research that generate knowledge for influencing sound policies and actions .
They have also had several projects in regards to chemical pollution, some of which are still ongoing including phase down of the use of amalgam in filling teeth, lead in Paints, mercury use in Artisanal and Small Scale Mining of Gold in Migori County, Phase out/ phase down of Mercury Added Products among others.
At Centre for Environment Justice and Development they face a couple of challenges; accessibility to study funding, under staffing and limited office space among others.
